Ever wonder what to do with your unwanted medications? It is no longer recommended to flush them down the toilet, with the exception of a few medications. Here are the latest recommendations on what to do with them.
1. Pour the medication into a sealable plastic bag. If the pill is solid (tablet, capsule, etc), crush it and add water to dissolve it.
2. Add kitty litter, sawdust, or coffee grounds. You want it to make it less desirable for children and pets.
3. Seal the bag and put it in the trash.
4. Remove and destroy all personal information before from medication containers before recycling or throwing them away.
